Waking world

At the beginning of last week, I had a moment of true peace and tranquility. It was early morning, just before the dawn, I stood in the backyard listening to the world wake up. It was an amazing moment in which I felt connected to the world in a new exciting way. At first it was all silence, then I stood there and let my eyes close and just focused on my breathing, shutting out the outside world and opening my other senses to what was truly around us. First I could feel the softness of the ground beneath my feet, the soft embrace as the breeze as it passed by, the tinkle of the wind chimes behind me, the rustle of the leaves as the wind carries the sounds of the birds starting to chirp and call out to one another. It brought forth a smile and I gave thanks to the gods for the gifts I was receiving.

When I finally opened my eyes, I looked over and there was a breathtaking sight before me, my neighbor has this beautiful tree in his backyard, and against the pre-dawn of the morning it was truly magnificent. So much so that I was instantly driven to paint this beautiful tree. So I did the only thing I could think of and I grabbed my phone and took a picture to try capture the majestic shapes and angles. When I finally had enough to hopefully give me what my memory may have missed, I moved to my small art studio in the garage and began the process of putting that lovely moment onto the canvas.

I am not a master painter, never taken a class or had any kind of formal training. I just love the process of creating. So I took my time and tried to remember all the advise Bob Ross gives even from the grave to the world in his joy of painting shows still aired. I even have a Bob Ross channel which for some odd reason calms my dogs and everyone else in the house when I put it on. But anyways. I worked on this painting in a way that was uniquely mine, I know that may not make sense but that's the only way I can describe it.

Which I worked I continued to keep that feeling of serenity in my mind and body. I was grateful for the experience and felt a true joy that followed me throughout the whole day. So the lesson I took from that was; it really is important to take the time to connect with nature, in whatever way you can, whether it be taking a hike or just a walk through the neighbor and just live in that moment, experience and appreciate the life all around us.

Here's the painting if anyone wanted to see it.

Thanks again for stopping by and following my ramble.

Until next time.
